Raag Malkaus | Suparno Bhowmick
About this recording
Raga Malkauns is one of the most beautiful, popular and most ancient of the raagas in Hindustani Classical music. It is usually sung or played at late night. Though a simple pentanoic raga in structure, it requires great skills to convey and evoke the mood of Malkauns. Suparno brought out the musical essence through his gayan exceptionally well. We can hear bandish in Madhyalaya Jhaaptal & Drut Teental. Music credits: Suparno Bhowmick | Vocal Rahul Chatterjzee | Tabla Dwaipayan Roy | Harmonium Premiered on Fri, 23 Sep 2022, curated by Dwaipayan Roy.
